Sensing: From Minds to Machines

Sensing… a fundamental aspect of all living creatures, is also the driving force behind intelligent machines.  The Israel Science Foundation (ISF) and the ABC Initiative for Robotics Research at Ben-Gurion University are proud to host this unique and highly interdisciplinary conference  where  sensing, minds and machines intersect in the broadest way possible. Our goal is to bring together researchers from various scientific disciplines who work on different forms of sensations (hearing, touch, vision, etc…) and employ different methodologies (neuroscience, behavior, computation) in order to explore new directions for sensing and sensory processing research.

The “Sensing: from Minds to Machine” Conference is comprised of two back to back workshops. The first, “The Future of Sensing for Robotics” explores state-of-the-art sensing technologies and ideas in the context of robotics. The second, “Vision: from Minds to Machines” discusses the advances in vision sciences, from the biological through the computational levels.

We invite you to join us for this exciting celebration of research at Ben-Gurion University in Israel from May 29 through June 1, 2016.  In addition to the many lectures by world-wide leading scientists, we invite researchers and students to present their own research in one of the two poster sessions. Please refer to the call for poster presentation.

Participation in the conference is free and open but registration is requested in order to properly organize the event. Registration will be closed on May 17, 2016 so hurry up.
